About Us

The Surgical Clinic at Blekingesjukhuset conducts extensive operations in surgery, urology, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, and oncology.

We have two inpatient departments in Karlskrona and four outpatient clinics, one of which is in Karlshamn. We also operate in radiology and the emergency department in Karlskrona, as well as in the operating rooms in Karlskrona and Karlshamn. Together, we are over 200 employees.

We are now looking for a nurse for the surgical clinic in Karlshamn, with a role as a contact nurse for urology at 50%. The remaining time you will assist in the doctor's office. Some work will take place in Karlskrona.

About the Job

The contact nurse plays a central role in Swedish cancer care by providing continuous support and coordination for patients and their relatives throughout the care process. The contact nurse's mission includes being a named contact for the patient, being available for questions and support, informing about the care process, assessing the patient's needs, and establishing an individual care plan.

You will work with your own nursing clinic, telephone advice, and assist in the doctor's office. You will also participate in connection with PAD notifications and multidisciplinary conferences. The administrative part of the job includes work with bookings, referrals, waiting lists, and quality registers.

Training takes place at an individual pace together with experienced colleagues with great commitment. At the surgical department, we care for each other and cherish team spirit. The tasks involve a lot of teamwork but also independent work and great personal responsibility.

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. You are confident in your professional role and have a genuine interest in working with people.

We expect you to have good collaboration skills, be engaged in your work, and contribute to creating a good work climate.

You have the ability to prioritize between tasks and can remain calm in situations that require it. We would like you to have:

• A strong quality focus in your work approach
• Ease in working in a team but also enjoy working independently
• Good social skills and always meet patients and colleagues with understanding and empathy
• The ability to work service-oriented
• A responsible attitude
• The ability to plan and organize as the tasks are varied and include both planned and acute activities

It is an advantage but not a requirement if you have experience in urological activities and/or have pursued further education in urology.
